As part of Guimaraes, Portugal's 2012 European City of Culture, I was commissioned by Watershed to respond to the Open Cities strand, and I developed and ran two workshops around public mapping.
The first workshop, in May, used Walking Papers to map the city, helping the group to understand and use Open Street Map. Photos at Flickr.
